Lions arch and Trade spammers
Why is it everytime I log into LA now, its filled with people asking WTB, and WTS, in the local channel instead of the trade.
I mean, I dunno how many times Ive mentioned this to someone doing it, and they start calling me a n00b because "nobody uses teh trade channel!!1!"
I mean, how idiotic do you have to be not to realise that if someone WANTS to buy something, theyre going to turn the trade channel on, its a total pain in the ass knowing the trade channel is there, and these morons are too selfish to use it.

It's a common complaint, but in the end it's easily ignorable.
Honestly, if you are in Lions Arch, I would always move to any district other than 1 or 2. Very few PvE players will look for groups, advice, etc. in those districts because of the heavy trade volume.

I turn town discussions off. I'm only there for myself anyway so unless I'm looking for something, I don't need to see the spam or name calling or what ever.

You should be aware now any DISTRICT 1-2 OF ANY major city is totally trade spam. =)
This is just a friendly reminder if you don't want those districts and don't want to be spammed, MOVE TO another one =)

probably because the trade channel is filled w/wts spammers and they will get drowned out, or just ignored by new players who don't even have it turned on.
if you want to reach your market you have to use the main channel and spam them w/cialis solicits.
any stuff I've ever sold has been by contacting people through main.

Why do they do it? Why do we have spam mail? Why do we have telephone salesmen interrupting our evenings trying to sell us newspaper subscriptions, etc. Its all a part of the technique behind advertising and marketing. You don't wait for the customer to come looking for you (here, on the trade channel), you go to the customer, despite how annoying you might be when doing this. Nothing can be done about this.
If it were also possible for sellers to PM the team and guild channels, they would probably do that to. If it were possible for players to set up bilboards and signs with their goods all over Lions, they would do that too.

Becuase the trade channel is rubbish.
I was trying to sell a sword in there for over 20 minutes.
Within 20-30 seconds of putting a message in local the offers started to come in, ive complained myself about this but hey ho.
GIVE US AN AUCTION HOUSE.

This as been discussed over and over again….If I member correctly it’s been around a year now since we saw the first complaints about this.
So I’m going to sneak this in before it gets closed.
One Solution
Turn off trade and general chat in towns.
One Dream
Santa is going to give the coding to Anet’s programmers for an *Auction House* since it’s been supposed to be in the works for a year now. /sarcasm
